Bonding Scan – Package 2

Appointment: 15 – 20 minutes
Gestation Period: 24-35 weeks

A Bonding Scan allows you to see and bond with your baby in 3D/4D and HD Live.  It is a special opportunity for you and your family to see your little one in detail.  You will be able to see their super cute tiny little face, delicate hands and feet. Baby may be having a little sleep or be a little wriggler. An amazing, reassuring and uplifting experience to bring the bond with your baby even closer. This can also be an amazing way of introducing baby to siblings and giving them an experience they will never forget.

During your appointment we will expect you to experience:

• Reassurance of the well being of your baby
• An amazing bonding experience with baby
• Opportunity to hear baby’s heartbeat
• Check baby’s movement
• As long as baby is positioned well, we can reveal if it is a boy or girl (If you don’t all ready know)
• View your baby in 4D/HD live

How do I prepare for a bonding scan?

• Please ensure you bring your hospital pregnancy notes with you to your appointment.
• A full bladder will improve the visibility of the pregnancy images. Please drink plenty of fluids and try not to empty your bladder before your scheduled appointment.

Images & Film Clips
The quality of your 4D scans images and clips are dependent on your baby’s position. If your placenta is anterior (front) to enable clear images of baby we can scan from 24- 30 weeks only.  If your placenta is posterior (back) we should achieve more clear images so we can scan from 24-35 weeks.  Whilst obtaining the best results on the day, we may stop scanning and ask you to take a short walk to try and reposition baby. If, in sonographer’s professional opinion, we’re not able to complete the primary purpose of your scan because of your baby’s position, we may offer you the option of a free re-scan. We have to ensure ultrasound exposure guidelines are followed in accordance with ALARA, as low as reasonable achievable.

A HEART BEAT BEAR CAN BE ADDED TO ANY PACKAGE FROM £20.00:
Heartbeat bears are a lovely touch to stay connected to your baby, not only for you but also for partners and siblings to listen to baby’s heartbeat.

Our Obstetric Sonographers are fully trained and qualified to perform ultrasound scans.  Our sonographers take care to follow the latest safety guidance set by British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We ensure ultrasound exposure guidelines are followed in accordance with ALARA, as low as reasonable achievable. We are registered with the independent regulator the Care Quality Commission to ensure the highest standards.
